Free printable gift tags!
I've made a printable set of gift tags - the PDF is available to download for free here
These are so easy to make:
Print them out on 200gsm or higher card (you can find this at your local stationery shop). If you don't have a printer at home you can take the file to a copy shop and they will be able to print them for you.
Cut the tags out just inside the dotted line
Punch a hole in the top of the hat
Loop a length of string or bakers twine through the hole
Write your note on the back and then attach to your presents!

Things I want to make - A grey dress
I saw this dress and thought it was such a lovely idea to have a plain grey dress with a beautiful lining.

Things I want to make - A Duffle coat
I've been thinking a lot lately about a red, hooded, woolen duffle coat.
I'm not sure I'm confident enough in my sewing abilities to attempt this just yet! But when I am I could try the Albion coat by Colette Patterns, I've seen a few lovely versions, especially this one by Peppermint and Paisley.

Things I want to make
I thought it would be fun to combine my two loves of drawing and sewing in a series of illustrations depicting things that I want to sew and knit. I'm going to post one of these a week for the next wee while. And maybe I'll actually sew some of them, if I do I'll let you know!
So here is the first - a green skirt with pleats and a row of buttons down the front.
There are are a couple of patterns I have my eye on for this skirt - the Wiksten Tulip Skirt available here or maybe the Helena skirt from BurdaStyle.

Day trip to Banks Peninsula
Went for a day trip to Banks Peninsula this weekend and did the short walk at Otepatotu Reserve which takes you through a totara forest, the name Otepatotu translates to 'the place of the fairies' - we didn't see any of them but the mosses, lichens and ferns were so beautiful. I took some photos but they didn't turn out so well in the dark of the trees so here are some from the summit and from Akaroa.

Little Garden Studio
I've had a lot of fun drawing rabbits for The Little Garden Studio over the last couple of weeks. They are a working garden and community space based in Vancouver, Washington. They'll also be stocking some of my prints too.

Sewing pile
I'm trying to carve out more time to do some sewing for me. I'm fast running out of clothes and really love making my own. I have a pile of lovely fabrics and a pinterest board full of inspiration. I've also signed up to Collette Patterns Wardrobe Architect project - this looks like it's going to be a fun way to help me get a few useful garments sewn up.
